Hi everyone, my name is Stephen Griffin, and welcome to my blog about bike workshops and custom bikes! I’m a person who is crazy about bikes, and have been building, customizing, and repairing them for over a decade. On my blog I share my experiences, practical tips, inspiration and the most exciting stories from the world of bike workshops.
Once upon a time, a bicycle was just a convenient means of transportation for me. But the more I rode, the more I realized there was more to a bicycle than that. I became interested in how my bike was built, what parts it had, and how I could improve it to suit my riding style. That’s how I got into the workshop, and from that moment on, a new phase began for me: a love of customization and creating unique bikes that reflect the personality of their owner.
I wanted to create a blog that would be useful to both newbies and those who have been around for a while. Here are a few of the main areas we discuss here:
The basics of bike building and customization
This is the foundation for anyone starting out. I cover the basic components, how to choose a frame and fork, and how to work with different materials from lightweight aluminum to vintage steel. There’s also a guide to installation and tuning if you decide to build a bike from scratch.
Repair and tuning
Here everyone can find tips on bike repair and tuning techniques. Whether it’s replacing a chain, adjusting brakes or secrets of fit, we go into every detail so you can get your bike in perfect condition yourself.
A world of customization and unique projects
For those who want to turn their bike into a true work of art, I share ideas and examples of unique projects. These can be bikes for a specific riding style, bikes with an unusual design or bikes assembled from vintage parts. I talk about different approaches to making unique bikes and what tools and materials you’ll need to make them.
The ecological side of manufacturing
The bicycle itself is an eco-friendly mode of transportation, and I am close to the idea of sustainable manufacturing. On the blog we discuss how to choose sustainable materials, recycle parts and minimize waste.
The workshop is not just a place to work. It’s a place where ideas are born and dreams are realized, where every bike is a small but unique project. For me, every frame, every detail has its own meaning and character. I love it when I manage to create a bike that is perfect for a particular person. My blog is a story of my love for bikes and an inspiration for anyone who wants to create something of their own too.
If you love bikes as much as I do, or are just starting to dive into the subject, welcome to my blog! Here you’ll find tips, tutorials, and inspiration for your projects. Perhaps one of my stories will encourage you to start your own custom project.
